The Chancellery of the State of Valais, Switzerland, has decided to name a new school in Sion Lycée-Collège Ella Maillart, following a call for ideas from students and teachers. In a press release dated 29 April 2024, it is stated that by choosing the name Ella Maillart, "the State Council wishes to pay tribute to an exceptional personality whose human qualities can serve as an example to young people". The new lycée is under construction and will accommodate 1350 students. It is to open in 1926.
